I really just had this hankering to use big rectangles of orange!

Deep snow now, so the deer aren't moving around so much,

but Mule got a great hit on his game cam a few weeks ago: an 8-pointer!

*Out at the edge of the woods - the top strand of lights that we'd strung on our pretty Blue Spruce just before Christmas stopped working after we strung them and plugged them in.  :-(  We were disappointed, but the tree still looked nice even with just the 2 lower strands of lights lit.  BUT THEN!!  I looked out on New Year's Eve, and the top strand of lights had miraculously lit back up !  

And they stayed lit!

Yup. Light in the darkness.  A hopeful way to start one year and start the next.  :-)

November's Postcard of the Month

Burning Bush!  And Turkeys on the move.

I see it every November and wonder what it's called.  Ha!  Duh... 

Thrilling to see.*

We've seen a lot of wild turkeys this year.

One day recently, my father and I were watching planes and helicopters take off and land

at the Lebanon airport while eating our lunches, and I noted: Lots of Turkey sightings lately.

And, sure enough, as we left the airport, there, right inside the airport fence, was a flock!**

Never even glued my prototype!

Addendum: Saffron

It's our second year of harvesting Saffron.  Amazing color this time of year!

Yes!  That's a bumblebee gorging on the Saffron crocus (crocus sativa) nectar!
