October's Postcard of the Month
Slow leaching of green...

Although, suddenly, it seems to be leaching rather fast!   It's funny to make the cards for the month ahead, some of them (like this one) attempting to evoke the coming month's palette, when that is not yet my vista's palette.   And then, all of a sudden, the cards are done, and that IS what things are looking like!

I didn't have any particular inspiration for October's card (other than color palettes), but I did have this collage that I'd made a few months ago, and thought had a nice October-ish feel to it.
Plus, the migrating geese lent a 'farewell' feel to it, which seemed appropriate for my post-Lucy*, end of summer sensibilities.

So, out came the papers:
from my increasingly scrumptuous stash  :)

and this was the next iteration:

Which then posed a dilemma  >>  a weigh-in re: geese/no geese...  Several votes for as is/no geese, but...    :)

Fixin's.  Or most!  I added a couple, and left out one:

*Dear old Lu went to herd sheep in doggie nirvana shortly after my last post.  We buried her out back, stacked a nice rock cairn over her grave.
Then, the next night, when we stopped by to visit, we found these prints on her top rock!
Most likely just cosmically well-timed paw-print configured raindrops (it had rained a little earlier in the evening), or maybe even little raccoon prints from some lively fella out rock-hoppin'??!   We took it as as Lu's  "Hello; everything's just fine" kind gift.    Hopefully you are not creeped out!
